Before you call

What to expect

Calling for the first time can feel like a lot. Here's what actually happens, so nothing is a surprise.

You don't have to prepare anything

There's no form and no intake questionnaire before you can talk. Start anywhere — even with "I don't really know why I'm calling."

You can stay anonymous

You are never required to give your name, your address, or any identifying details in order to be supported.

You set the pace

Silence is fine. Changing the subject is fine. Saying you'd rather not answer something is always fine.

Nothing is too small

People call about crises, and people call because the week has been heavy. Both are welcome on this line.

You can call for someone else

Worried about your child, your parent, your friend? Call us. Supporting someone is hard, and you deserve support too.

You choose what happens next

We offer options and explain them. Whether you act on any of them is entirely your decision.
